Category: Alluvium in the quaternary stratum
According to geologists’ drillings and studies, the soil is the alluvium of the quaternary stratum. The soil was brought by the Akungtien Stream to its lower reaches, and gradually deposited into firm soil.
The “new” alluvium is grayish color. When it has been cultivated for a lengthened period of time, it turns yellowish and is called “old” alluvium.
The alluvium contains clay, powder sands, sands and gravels. As a whole, it is neutral or weak alkaline, containing not more than 0.2% of salt. That creates an ideal land for agricultural fields and aquatic farms.
